La Tourell's

Bob and Allison recently outfitted our group of five for a backcountry excursion into the BWCA. They (and their staff) were extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and they made our vacation one to remember. The lodging was very nice… clean and comfortable. Bob also took the time to field questions over the phone several times leading up to the trip, which was very helpful for someone who had never planned a BWCA trip before. Thanks so much!

Fantastic experience--every day was a five-star day. Me and three friends chose the deluxe boat tent camp option with a base camp on Basswood Lake. We only needed to bring our fishing supplies and clothes -- everything else was provided. We were very comfortable even with bad weather. Everyone associated with La Tourell's was very friendly and accommodating. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Our rental gear and canoes were in excellent shape and the bunkhouse we stayed in was perfect for the night before our trip! They had tons of gear and extras in the shop for anything else we needed. Great service, and right next to the entry point. We'll be back for future Moose Lake trips!

Went out through Bob and his wife. We're excellent to deal with. Personable and funny. Used them as our permit issuing station, rented a canoe, and took showers on our way out. Staff were super helpful, prompt and attentive. Selection of backpacking gear was modest, but only because I would assume most people have all the gear. We did but some of their merchandise and my son (9) loves it. We've been home 2 days still wearing it. Would absolutely use them again.

LaTourell's is a terrific outfitter. My daughter and I opted for the delux canoe and food package and a tow to Indian Portage for a 5 day trip. Every aspect, from checking in, to canoes and equipment, to plenty of tasty food, to towing and meeting us at the dock on our return was better than I imagined it would be. Quality service. I 100% recommend them to outfit your next trip.

What a wonderful family-owned place. They have a love of the BWCA, and it shows. Just modern enough for comfort. The staff have superior local knowledge of the area, as many have lived and grown up there.

My wife and I used LaTourell's Outfitters for our first trip to the Boundary Waters. They were easy to deal with, prompt in replying to questions, and very accommodating. We opted to have our canoe shuttled to a portage point five miles up the lake and we're happy we did. At the conclusion of our trip we each paid $6.00 for a hot shower that included a fresh towel. It was wonderful! We would use their services again. Note: LaTourell's is walking distance to public parking, which we utilized for the week while canoeing the lakes

Came by for canoe rentals. Didn't stay for lodging. Has everything you need for your trip. The owner and his wife were very helpful with giving guidance on what route to take. Also the outdoor bathroom was really clean, which I greatly appreciate. I think it'd be helpful to have an optional video on basic canoeing/portaging. We watched a few YouTube videos before coming but still had a lot of figuring out on the water.
